FK Architecture and Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka Team Up for Women Build 2024

FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch Company, proudly announces its collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka for Women Build 2024, an initiative aimed at raising funds and providing affordable housing in the local community. This partnership marks FK Architecture's ongoing commitment to community development and empowerment. As a dedicated sponsor, FK Architecture is honored to be recognized as a Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Sponsor, contributing over $6,500 to support the Women Build program.

FK Architecture’s team will help with the construction on two homes located at 2005 and 2009 Alexander Avenue in Sanford, FL. They will commence building on March 1st, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This marks the sixth year that FK Architecture has participated in the Women Build program, demonstrating the firms unwavering dedication to the cause.

"Access to affordable housing is a pressing issue in our country. Our team at FK is dedicated to addressing this problem through engaging in initiatives like this one.  We are proud to provide safe and affordable housing to local families,” stated Kimberly Hellekson, Managing Principal of FK Architecture. "We are honored to stand alongside Habitat for Humanity in our shared mission of providing families with a place to call home. Women Build 2024 is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in our community."

As Central Florida grapples with housing affordability challenges, the impact of initiatives like Women Build 2024 cannot be overstated. Beyond the provision of affordable housing, these efforts will yield numerous social benefits, including improved health outcomes, increased educational opportunities, and enhanced community resilience.

The homes constructed through Women Build 2024 will be dedicated on Saturday, April 27th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Home Dedication and Women Build 2024 Awards Presentation. FK Architecture remains committed to creating a brighter, more equitable future for all members of the community. Through Women Build 2024 and similar initiatives, FK Architecture reaffirms its dedication to building not just homes, but also hope and opportunity for generations to come.
