Set to open within the next six months, FK Architecture-designed Altair at Clear Creek in Killeen, Texas, will bring 182 market-rate apartments to the area. Additional development is planned to bring the community to 292 residences.
The garden-style community combines one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes with shared indoor and outdoor spaces designed around how residents live, gather, and recharge.
Design Details That Make a Difference
Natural stone across the building exteriors gives Altair at Clear Creek a material quality that distinguishes the community while connecting the architecture to its Central Texas setting. Select 10-unit residential buildings also incorporate single-bay garages directly into the design, giving residents convenient parking while maintaining a cohesive architectural approach across the property.
At the center of the community is a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse designed to extend residents' living space beyond their individual apartments. Indoor and outdoor gathering and lounge areas create places to connect or unwind, while dedicated fitness and yoga spaces support a range of daily routines. The clubhouse also incorporates leasing functions into the broader amenity environment.
Throughout the property, the design considers both the individual residence and the larger community experience. Open-concept apartment layouts with direct entry into each unit, outdoor spaces, recreational amenities, and shared gathering areas give residents options for how they use their homes and the spaces around them.
As Altair at Clear Creek prepares to welcome its first residents, the project adds to FK Architecture's growing portfolio of multifamily work in Texas.
